Recently I saw an ad for a calendar to countdown to Halloween. They called it the Halloween Advent Calendar. Thank you. The only time that I’ve seen a holiday or something and seen the word Advent used in conjunction with it is Christmas.
I understand that you can use it for other things, but because of my Christian background and upbringing, it just feels like Advent, the season that happens in December leading up to Christmas, is being corrupted by marketing people.
Like so many other things, marketers ruin them, and this I think will ruin Advent. It’s like the people who have worked hard to ruin the idea of male and female and sex being one or other. Thank you.
So many things just get ruined by the the roughing of the edges and then the redefinition of it. Monogamous is another thing that I’ve you scene get changed and is slowly being ruined as a concept and idea.
I’ve heard multiple people over the past couple of years say, oh yeah, we’re monogamous. And they’re talking about the current person that they’re dating. And they’re talking about, oh, I’m only having sex with that person while we’re dating.
And I’m not dating or going and doing things with other people. I’m monogamous. That’s not my understanding of that word. Thank you. I won’t go into male and female because that’s just so Over the top in the press and being pushed on us by entertainment companies.
Thank you. It’s sad to think that dark advent leading up to Halloween will just lead more and more people to praise and worship the devil and his minions even as they turn away from God and his son. Come Lord Jesus.
